What to Expect from your Sales Presentation
Please keep the following in mind:
At The Deck & Fence Store, we realize your time is valuable and your project is important to you. So, we would like to let you know, in advance, that we would like to have enough time to get to know you and effectively bid your project.
Please allow:
1 hour to 1.5 hours for a fence estimate
1 hour to 3 hours for a deck estimate
Also, before the sales representative arrives, please have your plot plan available if you need permit assistance.
After we set up an appointment with you, we will send a sales representative to your home-site at the day and time specified.
When the sales rep arrives, an Introduction period will be followed by time to discuss your project. This will allow the sales rep to learn your goals, wants/needs, and budget on the project. With this information, he can better assist you in presenting products you want and perhaps show you products you haven’t even thought about.
After presenting you with products that can be used on your project in the form of brochures and product samples, both parties will go outside to map out the desired product location and dimensions. This will aid the sales rep in choosing the right product and the right quantity.
Now that you have decided on your product choice and measured for location and sizes, it is time for the Quote. Most of the time, depending on the project, you will receive your quote at the time of presentation.
From the Sales Presentation you will receive:
A several page detailed Quote
A Marketing Agreement, where you can earn cash for referrals
A “What To Expect” after signing the contract
Product Brochures
The Sales Rep’s business card
Referral Cards
A few days following the presentation, you’re Sales Rep and the Lead Manager, Lisa Gannon, will contact you to do a follow up call with a few questions on the presentation.
What to Expect after the sale……
Once the Installation Department receives your contract, your project will be reviewed by the superintendents to determine if your project should have a site visit. Please allow up to 3-5 business days.
Site Visit (If Needed) - The Installation Department will be contacting you after receiving your folder. You will receive a phone call from Tammy Price or Kyle Ward. They are responsible for scheduling the site visit, if one is needed, obtaining permits (if required), and providing customers with what material is needed for subdivision approval.
A site visit is scheduled only when deemed necessary for further information or to verify final
measurements. The superintendents can greatly eliminate confusion on the job site and insure
a perfect installation.
The responsibilities of the superintendents include:
Discussion of material placement and reviewing the items on the contract.
The superintendents give assistance to the crew leader when needed for your project.
They answer and explain technical questions before the job starts and during the project.
They can participate with you and the crew leader in a final walk through.
Permits - Almost all fences and decks require a permit. Some decks even require architectural drawings that are sealed by a licensed architect. Extra fees for an architect may apply.
A plot plan/survey is needed for your permit and any new installation, so please make sure the installation department receives a copy of the plot plan/survey in a timely manner. With out the proper paperwork your fence project will be delayed.
Kyle Ward will be applying for your permit after your site visit or receiving your signed contract, if nosite visit is required. This can only happen if we have all the proper paperwork required by the municipality. Kyle will call you and inform you of when he applies for your permit. He will let you know how long you may expect your permit to take for approval and he will call you when your permit is approved.
Some municipalities require the post holes to be inspected prior to The Deck and Fence Store installing the fence. Please be aware if your municipality requires holes to be inspected. This may delay your project.
If you are located in a historical district, the permitting process could delay your install. This will depend upon the requirements of each municipality.
Subdivision Approval: This is the responsibility of the homeowner. We can assist with any information needed to help with the approval process (drawing, literature, etc.). This
needs to be submitted before material can be ordered and may delay your installation date. The drawings are standard drawings and not sealed by an architect or engineer.
(There would be an additional cost if needed)
Scheduling: Your contract will have an approximate installation time. This will let you know an approximate time we can start your project. Tammy Price, is responsible for scheduling your material delivery and installation date.
The installation date of your project is based upon the receiving of the subdivision approval, permits, materials, and weather. Tammy will call 2-3 days in advance of the installation to inform you of the date to expect the crews and material.
You can expect to be called and given an estimated week of installation periodically. Your installation can fall anywhere with in the week given but a specific date will not be given until several days before your installation.
If you are completing your own tear out of your existing fence or deck please keep in mind that specific dates cannot be given until several days in advance. Even after a specific date is given, your installation may be delayed a day or two due to weather conditions or situations on the project prior to yours.
After the Project is completed - you will receive the following:
1.
A Certificate of Completion - this is a survey to evaluate your thoughts on how the project went
from start to finish. You will review everyone that has been involved in your project. You are
also provided with your ending balance that is due upon project completion.
2.
Warranty Cards from the manufacturers of your chosen products.
3.
Lien Waivers - the Completion Certificate, Warranty Cards, and Lien Waivers are administered
to you by Tammy Price.
4. Elaine Wilson, Accounts Receivable, deals with Financing Options and Financing Approval.
